What will I be doing?

This is where you come in! Whānau are at the heart of everything we do so you'll be playing a key role in building relationships with our children and families here at BestStart Te Whāriki!

We have an amazing opportunity for a Qualified teacher to join our lovely new centre at BestStart Te Whāriki. We are a fun, kind and a supportive team who is looking for an amazing, dedicated, energetic and fun-loving teacher to join our over 2's team to create and accommodate a quality learning programme and an age specific and nurturing learning environment for our active and adventurous 2-3.5 -year-old children.

The three over two's rooms are designed to provide flow and movement between the classrooms so our kaiako can easily create learning opportunities to support Manaakitanga and Tuakana teina relationships. Our team strive to provide an environment that is welcoming, respectful, safe and fun for all children and families. The atmosphere is both calm and playful, where children experience loving relationships with teachers and develop a strong sense of belonging and empowerment.

Our age specific rooms are licensed for a small number of children and offer nice and intimate spaces indoor and a spacious outdoor to allow for a variety of learning opportunities and experiences that challenge children in ways that support their holistic development.

This position is permanent and full time, with our over 2's.

Role requirements:

• B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current teacher registration/certification
• Passionate about working with children
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of planning and assessment, pedagogy, and curriculum
• Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard
• Be excellent in all forms of communication
• Warm, nurturing, energetic, creative and respectful
• Able to work collaboratively in a team environment with high levels of motivation and enthusiasm
